On 30 April 2008, the Legislative Council of the HKSAR passed the Mainland Judgments (Reciprocal Enforcement) Ordinance.  The commencement date of the Ordinance is yet to be announced.

The Ordinance gives effect to the Arrangement on Reciprocal Recognition and Enforcement of Judgments in Civil and Commercial Matters by the Courts of the Mainland and the HKSAR pursuant to Choice of Court Agreements between Parties Concerned made between the Supreme People's Court of the PRC and the Hong Kong government on 14 July 2006.
