We also know that lawyers who know and respect each other are more accountable to each other. Who We Look For
Whatever your expertise or your long-term career aspirations, you're likely to embody certain "core" characteristics and attitudes common to all Baker & McKenzie lawyers if you're destined for a successful career with us.
Naturally, we expect you to have a strong academic track record, excellent "technical" legal skills and a commitment to the very highest standards at all times.
We welcome candidates who:
- Possess a Polish law degree
- Have fluent written and spoken English
- Are motivated to work hard and pay attention to detail
- Are good team workers
- Have the ability to analyze problems and offer practical solutions
Applications from foreign lawyers who possess a law degree from a recognized university and have experience as an in-house lawyer or in a private practice in Poland will also be considered.
Additional criteria which will be regarded favorably:
- Law degree from a leading Polish university
- Fluency in a second foreign language
- A post-graduate law degree from a US, Canadian or British university (or German university in the case of German speakers)
- Employment experience in an international law firm
- Qualified legal advisors or advocates
Student Program
The Warsaw Office runs a summer internship program, open to senior year students. Each summer we typically hire 10-15 students, who work in all practice areas, supporting lawyers in researches and simple client work. If you are interested in the Program, please submit your CV (applications accepted from March to May) stating which Practice Group you would like to work for.
Since 1997, Baker & McKenzie Warsaw has collaborated with the European Law Students Association (ELSA). ELSA is a non-profit organization of law students and young lawyers, run by students on a voluntary basis. Baker & McKenzie has been sponsoring ELSA and working with its members to promote legal scholarship and practical experience among young legal professionals.
