Our group has advised major international telecommunications companies interested in entering the telecommunications market in Vietnam. This work involved determining the scope and extent of foreign participation permitted in this sector, which is currently limited. However, a liberalisation of this industry is expected in Vietnam once the recently signed US-Vietnam Bilateral Trade Agreement comes into effect.
Our clients have also called upon us to monitor the development of internet regulations in Vietnam, and to ensure regulatory compliance in their initiatives to utilise the internet in the nascent but rapidly advancing business environment of the Indochina region.
